DISCIPLESHIP

The Parkview Church of God views the Sunday School as one of the avenues assisting us in fulfilling our mission:

Great Commission:

Matthew 28:19-20, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.  Amen."

Great Commandment:

Luke 10:27,  "...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself."

The Sunday school is an arm of the church at work reaching people of all ages with God's message of love, hope, and reconciliation, in graded, age appropriate classes. We take seriously our obligation to teach the Bible and afford our students an opportunity to be involved in a systematic study of the Bible through graded, age appropriate literature. After providing the teaching of the Word, we believe in giving our students an opportunity to accept Christ as their personal Savior. To accomplish this, we believe every teacher is an evangelist with their main goal to win their students to Christ. We are further committed to nurturing our students into Christian maturity. Our goal is to produce students that are Biblically and doctrinally literate and understand how to apply these concepts of the Word of God in their everyday lives. In training, we have the responsibility to have a program in which our students from the youngest to the oldest can develop their leadership skills to eventually take leadership roles in our local church. Finally, we believe Sunday school is an avenue to assimilate believers into the body by affording students opportunities to serve the local church body.
